Nothing Like a Good Burger

There are many wonderful things in life, especially when it comes to food! Now, I like all sorts of food!! There are numerous meals that I have had that have almost put me in a coma because my mind can not comprehend so much deliciousness!! Also, there are so many foods that I want to try that cost three arms and a couple of legs. However, truth be told, there is nothing quite like a good burger!

I’m not going to say that a burger is the best thing on earth, no. What I am going to say is burgers are awesome! I love burgers, all kinds and all prices! The cheap burger from the diner down the road, amazing. The not so cheap burger from a fancy restaurant downtown, amazing. The truth is, give me a good burger and I will be happy!

There are a few restaurants in town that serve up some burgers that will seduce you into eating way more that your stomach actually desires. I will say that I have not eaten every burger in town so there may be some even better than the ones I have had, but alas I am unaware of them! Here is a short little list of a few good places to grab a burger in the Tulsa area. These are in no particular order.

1. Louie’s
– This place has some awesome, greasy burgers. I will say that they can be so greasy they will soak the bun, and I am not a fan of that happening. However, the burgers are still so good! They have a good amount of burger choices as well, but you can never go wrong getting the Big Lou.

Yeah that’s great burger. It’s very reasonably priced too at only $7.99. Plus, I like the fries. Here’s another shot of the burger I got from the Stillwater location. It’s called the Theta Burger.

It was awesome.

2. Fat Guy’s
– Now Fat Guy’s burgers may reward you with a heart attack, but you will die happy. In pain, but still happy! Add a side of fries and, well you will die happier. Not only does this place have some good burgers but they are also in a great location! Oh yeah, don’t forget to try the Fat Guy Challenge. Its like eating pounds of greasy food in less than an hour. No, I haven’t done it. Should I? Yeah I think so.

3. McNellie’s
– Not my favorite burger in town, but if you come on a Wednesday they are only $3 plus 50 cents if you want cheese. Oh yeah, that comes with a side of either pub fries or sweet potato fries.. The burgers are pretty good too, not the best, but pretty good. I do love mcNellie’s, it’s such a cool place. If I’m in tulsa on a Wednesday there is a good chance I will be at McNellie’s for dinner.

4. The Tavern on Brady
– Amazing burger. Absolutely incredible. Inexplicably scrumptious. This burger will set you back $13 but it is well worth it, maybe not economically, but you shouldn’t measure life economically! It is hard to beat this burger. Yes, it’s made with a homemade challah bun. Yes, that’s mushroom cognac cream on top. Wait, what kind of cheese is on it? Oh yeah, Stilton. Don’t forget that the patty is made with ground short rib, chuck, and brisket. Eat it. If you don’t eat it you will regret it for eternity. If you don’t wanna shell out $13 then come after nine in the evening and get the burger for $6. That’s a good deal. Actually, it’s a great deal!!

Now I really want a burger. Like bad. I just ate. Now I’m starving. Guess it’s time to eat again!

Food. Drink. Whatever.

Happy March!!

As it turns out, I don’t know what to write about this week! Dang it! I actually forgot that I had to craft some words for foodtrash until late this afternoon. Actually I ate a really scrumptious brunch last Sunday and I was planning on writing about that… but… I apparently didn’t take any pictures. Dang! I will still write about it I assume! I’ll just be sure to throw some other pictures in here!

So this brunch. Was so good. Like. Amazing. If you have never been to Smoke on Cherry Street (that’s the name of the restaurant) then you should make it a priority! I have not been there for dinner, but they have this Sunday brunch, and well you know, I’ve been there for that.

Now for this brunch I had a tough time deciding what to order. Biscuits and gravy with eggs and ranch potatoes or chicken fried pork loin covered in gravy with eggs and ranch potatoes. Ok, guess what I ordered!… Chicken fried pork loin, scrambled eggs, and ranch potatoes. Can I just say I wish someone was spoon feeding me that goodness right now. The chicken fried pork loin = perfectly fried, and the gravy that it was elegantly smothered in was so incredible!! Eggs… Well they were scrambled, but good. I mean, they’re eggs… And the potatoes, kinda spicy and served with a little bit of ketchup on the side. Idk what kind of ketchup it was, but it was not any that I had enjoyed before… And it was great!!

I was literally in awe of the food I was devouring!! I went animal on that brunch! They should have slapped a collar and a muzzle on me!

Moral of the story, go to Smoke for their Sunday brunch. I’m sure their lunch and dinner is good as well.

On another note, my girlfriend and I went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory here in Stillwater. We got us some good chocolate creations!!

Chocolate covered Strawberry, dark chocolate covered pretzel, Irish cream truffle, milk chocolate truffle, and a cherry bomb!! That trip was well worth it! I love chocolate!!! Love it! Like want to pour it in my eyes I love it so much!

Well that’s all for this week! Until next Friday!

Food. Drink. Whatever.

Oh yeah, Happy March!

Andolini’s Pizza on Cherry Street

Yeah, I know it’s 10 at night and I’m finally getting around to writing this! You should be lucky I’ve been so diligent to post on here every week. But what can I say? I love doing this!! I wish I had the time to write on here every single day! You all are probably glad it’s once a week! Plus, I would have to start thinking a whole lot to come up with something to write every single day!

Anyways, this week I am going to be talking about one of my favorite local pizza places – Andolini’s! I know there’s one in Owasso, but I have never been there! The Cherry Street location is the spot I like to visit! The reason being that it is closer to my home and I just like Cherry Street!! This place has a pretty good atmosphere! It’s a cool place with exposed brick walls and a partly open kitchen where you can see the pizza dough being flung through the air, and sometimes dropped on the floor, picked up, and made into a pizza crust. I’m just pulling that leg of yours! Yes, you can see them tossing that Pizza dough around, and they do drop it sometimes, but they throw that dough away. It’s pretty entertaining. Which is something that is needed because if you come between 5:30 and 9 or 10 on a weekend night, be prepared to wait a little bit.

After that wait, be ready to order up some appetizers! The garlic knots are so great! They’re covered in butter though, so I would be worried if they weren’t great! Also, the mozzarella slices are tasty tasty! Then, when it comes to the pizza you can’t really go wrong! Last time I went I got the Pizza Rustica and it was ammmmaaaaazzzzziinnnggg!! It’s made Tuscan style with ricotta, mozzarella, prosciutto, sliced sausage and spinach AND the crust is folded over the top of the filling (not quite calzone style). I’ve had many other pizzas and a Stromboli (which you will need to share with somebody unless you live in a zoo, have floppy ears, and are named… Ok if you’re a freaking elephant ) there and it was all drool inducing.

Now we can’t stop there! Oh no. The dessert is fantastic as well! So fantastic that we have gone there for simply their desserts. The Italian butter cake and Oreo cheesecake brownie = mind blown! I will say that I am pretty sure I have figured out how to make the Oreo cheesecake brownie though (but don’t tell them that). Nonetheless, if you aren’t on the verge of death from eating too much after leaving Andolini’s, then you aren’t truly living. Get American! Eat pizza and gorge yourself!

P.S. Sorry I didn’t take too many pictures. You can spank me for it later.

Munch That Bagel

BAGELS!!!!!!

20130118-152857.jpg

Yeah I know that is a picture of a single bagel! Well technically it is a “breakfast bagel” from the Old School Bagel Cafe in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The breakfast bagel is exactly what it sounds like, it is a bagel with either sausage or bacon, eggs, and American cheese. This one was made using an everything bagel, but you can have it in any bagel you want. Today I got it with a jalapeño bagel and last Sunday I got it on a chili bagel. I love these things. Matter of fact, I devoured one this morning (the one in the photo was consumed about a month ago), and I mean it didn’t stand a chance.

So, bagels! What makes those little doughy masterpieces so amazing! It must be the hole in the middle (that’s what she…)! Now I know that there is a rumor going around that New York bagels are the best. Well, they are pretty dang good! When I was in New York City I made a stop at a little place called Ess-A-Bagel! Yes, that bagel was great! I can’t recall exactly what I got but it seems like it was simply a bagel with cream cheese. Yeah, it pretty much proved that the New York bagel is the best.

Yet, let us not get too far ahead of ourselves in drawing these conclusions! The Old School Bagel Cafe has bagels that are just as good or at least come pretty dang close. Yes, yes, the breakfast bagel is a favorite of mine, but the bagels with cream cheese are simply TO DIE FOR!! I got the blueberry bagel with honey almond cream cheese and I ate that thing as hard as I eat things. Yeah that made a lot of sense. I know I just ate a bagel this morning but I’m already craving another.

So grab a bagel and munch.

Food. Drink. Whatever.

Eats on the Streets

Oh no!!! It’s 9:03 p.m. and I haven’t written my blog yet!! Omg!! So many people probably checked in to read this wonderful blog and didn’t see a new post! Just kidding, just kidding. Nobody has looked at my blog today. Well, at least that’s what the stats say. So, what’s getting the foodtrash verbiage this lovely Friday??

Street vendors! Yeah, that’s right. The great ol’ American street vendor. They’re great! Who doesn’t love street vendors?? I for one do! Nothing better than getting a wet sloppy hot dog from a greasy fellow at a food cart (disclaimer: not all food cart vendors are greasy, and not all are men).

Now I’m sure all of my wonderful readers are thinking “why this topic”. Well, I will tell you why! Last night I made a stop at a hot dog cart and got me a wet, meaty, wiener! Yeah, this one was the bomb! It goes by the name “The Dirty Curty”! Let me tell you, it makes you feel dirty! Well only if you spill all of the chili and cheese on you, which I did not do for once! So I guess I didn’t feel too dirty. Now that I mentioned the Chili and cheese I should probably inform you of what this dog was topped with – cream cheese, chili cheese, and shredded cheddar! So freaking good! If your mind isn’t telling you that then you need to get a refund on that junk you’ve been using for a brain! Anyways, it’s good.

Yeah, I love food vendors. I’ve eaten at taco trucks on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere Arkansas, and I’ve eaten an Italian sausage off the side of the street in New York. Both were amazing. No doubt about it. If you are thinking that food vendors serve trash for food, well you may be right. But this is foodtrash, so that works for me. Here is my weekly brain spill for you – if you see a food vendor and are feeling a little empty in the gut, then fill that gut with some street food goodness. No second thoughts. Eat up!

Food. Drink. Whatever

The Beginning

First post. I guess I should describe this blog a little bit. This is my first attempt at blogging, and of course, this blog about food and drink. Simple enough. I’m not sure everything that it will necessarily contain, but you can bet it will talk about the deliciousness of food or drink. You can expect a wide range of food topics, maybe a few recipes, and maybe some videos of me whipping up something very, very tasty. Well, no promises on how it will taste.

On that note I must warn you – I am the best chef to ever touch a hot skillet. False. I am not an expert when it comes to food. I just like putting it in my mouth. So, this may be the most unprofessional blog that you have ever laid eyes on, but don’t let that stop you. Lay eyes on it more.

Now that you know all of that, I hope that you decide to keep up with all of the trash that I have to say. How often will that trash be posted to this blog? I don’t know. It is verrryyyy possible that this is the only post that I will ever make. However, I hope that is not the case. I plan to plaster all of my food musings to this outlet as often as possible. That may be once a week, that may be every day. So, what will my first real post be about? It’s a mystery. Maybe I’ll cook something up and let you all read about it, or maybe I’ll write about the history of food. Unfortunately, all that I have eaten so far today is a protein bar and Cracker Barrel leftovers – country fried steak, fried okra, sweet carrots, and biscuits to be exact. If you are wondering, it tastes better when it has not been microwaved says captain obvious.

So, restaurant reviews, recipe reviews, random ramblings, and maybe my own attempts to whip up some food myself. Most of the restaurants being reviewed will likely be restaurants located right here in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, simply because that is where I live. However, it won’t only be limited to that.

Anyways, if you have any ideas, or simply want to tell me anything, you can do it in the comments, of you can shoot an email my way at foodtrashblog@gmail.com

Food. Drink. Whatever.

P.S. Since it is the Christmas season, and I LOVE CHRISTMAS, you can expect some holiday related posts soon. Enjoy.
